It was a great honour to be asked by Anne Haas from Twinkl if would I be interested in sharing one of my reviews as part of their recent Literary Lovers Campaign. I immediately jumped on board because, as you all know by now, if it’s book-related, I’m all in.
“For anyone that loves to read, there is no better way to spend time. The feeling of exploring new worlds, learning from people’s experiences or travelling back (or forward!) through time in books is one you really can’t beat! For anyone that doesn’t love reading… it’s all about finding that one book that draws you in and keeps you hooked!”
Twinkl is an educational resource publisher offering a vast selection of resources to teachers and parents alike. The Literary Lovers Campaign was set up to coincide with the recent National Read a Book Day on the 6th September and International Literacy Day on the 8th September. Reading books and receiving book recommendations is not just for one day, and as I didn’t get the opportunity to share this on either of those dates, I thought I would share it with you all here today.
The book I selected for the campaign was the very affecting Emmet and Me by Sara Gethin. I felt it was a good fit for Twinkl’s site due to the premise of the book and it being narrated by a ten year old girl, Claire O’ Connell. Emmet and Me was published May 20th, 2021 with Honno, an independent Welsh Women’s Press.
The campaign offered the reader a selection of books with reviews from some other of my fellow book bloggers, Emma McAvoy, Amy Buckle, Lucy Pearson, Laura Nazmdeh and Janet Emson.
You can read the full post HERE where you will discover some wonderful book recommendations across different genre and also additional information on the benefits of reading for both children and adults. I do hope you enjoy.
I also got a badge which I am delighted with (see below) so I just want to take this opportunity to say a big Thank You to Twinkl for encouraging folk to read and for asking me to be included in such a fantastic campaign.
REMEMBER EVERYONE READING IS FOR LIFE
