#bookreview : The Girl From The Savoy by @HazelGaynor

‘A FADING LEGEND

A RISING STAR

THE SECRETS THAT HAUNT THEM….’

In recent month there has been a phenomenal amount of books that I want to pick up and read. The Girl From The Savoy has been one of those books.

From past reviews you will see that I am drawn to historical fiction of a certain era, namely 1920s and 1940s. The Girl From The Savoy, published earlier this Summer by Harper Collins, is a novel set in the post WW1 era of the 1920’s.

A beautiful read, here is my review. I do hope you enjoy!!

Everything I Don’t Remember by Jonas Hassen Khemiri – My Review

‘Who decides what is important and what is superfluous?

All I know is that the more details I give you the more it seems like I’m leaving out’

Everything I Don’t Remember is the fourth novel by Swedish author Jonas Hassen Khemiri. In 2015, it was awarded Swedan’s August Prize, one of the most celebrated and prestigious literary Prizes in Sweden. Named after the famous Swedish author August Strindberg, the award was established with the hope of increasing public interest in Swedish contemporary literature

Everything I Don’t Remember is translated from Swedish by Rachel William-Broyles and published in English very recently. I received my copy from Sophie Orme, editorial director of Scribner, in return for my honest review.

#bookreview ~ The Dressmaker of Dachau by Mary Chamberlain

‘You may look like a swan, but if you talk like a sparrow, who will take you seriously? Welcome, Miss Vaughan’

I was lucky enough to receive my copy of The Dressmaker of Dachau from Harper Collins. It is written by Mary Chamberlain and published in 2015 by The Borough Press, an imprint of Harper Collins.

My review is as ever my own opinion and most importantly, an honest one. I do hope you enjoy.

Early One Morning by Virginia Baily – My Review

‘”I want my mamma”, he says. She looks at him. Small, defiant. Orphaned. Her knees buckle, and she puts her hand to the parapet.’

Every so often, it’s nice to just pick up a book that has been sitting in my TBR….waiting!! Early One Morning is one of those books. Written by Virginia Baily and published by Virago Press in 2015, I have been dying to read it. I purchased it a few months back and time escaped me to open it. A suitcase was the perfect opportunity!!

I hope you enjoy my review of this truly beautiful book.
