Since I have started blogging I have been lucky enough to meet some wonderful people.

I find Twitter to be the main source for quite a lot of my interaction.

It was on Twitter that I came across the lovely writer that is Evie Gaughan. Through one of our many ‘conversations’, I asked Evie would she be interested in writing a guest post for me. I am delighted to say…she said YES!!!

So without further ado here is Evie with a wonderfully interesting post on ‘Bending The Rules’…  with some fab book recommendations from Evie included.

#bookreview ~ The Joyce Girl by Annabel Abbs @annabelabbs

‘There are sins or (let us call them as the world calls them) evil memories which are hidden away by man in the darkest places of the heart but they abide there and wait.’

James Joyce, Ulysses, 1922

Now I’m going to honest here and, even though I am Irish, I have never read James Joyce.

The appeal for me with this novel is that The Joyce Girl is primarily about his daughter Lucia. It is also set in Paris in the 1920’s/1930’s, an era, which by now some of you will have realised, I just adore.

When I received my copy from Natalie of Impress Books I was delighted. I knew immediately that the hardest part would be to write a good enough review to justify this absolute genius debut from Annabel Abbs.

Q & A with Writer Nicky Clifford @NickyNovelist

Theale resident and writer, Nicky Clifford, launches her debut novel, Never Again, on October 21st and her dream of seeing her book in print finally becomes reality.

Never Again has received warm reviews ahead of publication and looks set to storm its way up the Amazon charts in romantic fiction.

I approached Nicky, wondering if she would be interested in answering a few questions about herself for all us readers and to my utter delight…Nicky said YES!!

Please continue reading to find out more about this most talented lady.

Cartes Postales from Greece by Victoria Hislop – My review

‘Who knows if the tales people told me are true or false? I suspect some of them are complete fabrications, others are exaggeration – but perhaps some of them are real.

You can decide.’

There are certain books that land through my letterbox that result in a funny dance and a scream of joy!! Cartes Postales from Greece is one such book.

Written by the wonderful Victoria Hislop, Cartes Postales from Greece will be published on the 22nd of September by Headline Review, in Hardback, Ebook and Audiobook.

I was honoured and overjoyed to receive my copy from Caitlin Raynor, Deputy Communications Director with Headline Review, in return for my very honest review.

Attacking My TBR – One Step at a Time!!

I have a lot of books to read – FACT!!

My source of books is varied. I’m lucky enough to receive quite a few from publishers and authors. I also purchase books and have a friend who is an avid reader and is great for passing them on to me.

Sometimes I look at the pile in complete panic, saying how?  Just how?

So I came up with this idea. If I write about what I intend reading, I then will have no choice. It worked last time so I’m hoping for similar success!!
