Today I am absolutely thrilled to be on the tour bus with Cherly Rees-Price and her second novel in the DI Winter Meadows Series, Frozen Minds.

Published by Accent Press in October 2016, Frozen Minds is a novel based around a murder in a residential care home, Bethesda House. DI Meadows is called in to solve the case.

Cheryl has written a fabulous guest post for us today about the impact of technology in the criminal world and how far these advances have progressed from the early works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The Girl Behind The Lens is a new release from Irish Writer Tanya Farrelly, published by Killer Reads (Harper Collins). The ebook was released on 28th October and paperback is due for release in December (2016).

I received my copy via NetGalley after a request from writing.ie if I would read and review the book for them.

Billed as a ‘Dark Psychological Thriller’  and for fans of Girl on The Train, I was intrigued to see what it’s pages unfolded….

Written by Gisa Klönne, a German writer living in Cologne, I was interested to see how her work would translate into English.

It is one of those books that I hope my review will do justice to but it is suffice to say that I absolutely loved it.

A Night of Glitz and Glamour at the BGE Irish Book Awards

Now unless you have been hiding under a rock, you will know that the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards were held at the Hilton Double Tree Hotel in Dublin last Wednesday Night (16th November)

I was nervous but also very excited to have been invited by writing.ie.

I set up Swirl and Thread last March with no idea really of what I was doing. I just knew I loved books and wanted to share that passion with other like minded people. To be suddenly seated among such literary giants in such a short time-frame was indeed an honour very hard to describe.

Where am I going?

Well….I have been lucky enough to be invited to the Irish Book Awards tonight in Dublin by Vanessa Fox O’ Loughlin. Vanessa is the founder of Inkwell Publications and is also the brains behind the fantastic website Writing.ie , the online resource for all your literary requirements. Of course some of you know her as Sam Blake, crimefiction writer of Little Bones.

I’m hoping to report back from my trip but in the meantime, here’s a look at who I expect I’ll be stalking….
