Out of The Darkness by Katy Hogan – A very personal review

“A person is like a candle,” he said.

“The wick is the body, the flame is the soul, bringing light into the world.”

A tale of love, loss and life after deathOut of the Darkness is.the debut novel from Katy Hogan. First published in 2015 by Illumine Publishing, I was very lucky to receive my copy from the author in the past few weeks.

This is a very special book with a very special message about dealing with grief….what you interpret and take from it will be a very personal experience.

‘Love will always light the way, until we meet again some day…’

Review for @TripFiction : The Muse by Jessie Burton

Firstly let me state that I’m a huge fan of Jessie Burton’s writing.

I treated myself to her previous novel, The Miniaturist, on a trip to The National Gallery in Dublin. I felt it was a fitting location to purchase it and what a read!!

When the opportunity came up from TripFiction to read The Muse I was more than willing to accept.

Published by Picador I received my copy from Tripfiction in exchange for my honest review.

Guest Post : Six of THE BEST Female Sleuths by Corrie Jackson (@CorrieJacko)

After reading the brilliant 5* Breaking Dead by Corrie Jackson, I wanted more!!

So I contacted Corrie and she kindly offered to feature on my blog in a guest post.

We discussed a range of topics and decided that Corrie’s readers would love to see who, in literary ‘Sleuth’ world, (aside from the wonderfully talented Investigative Journalist Sophie Kent, of course), Corrie most admired.

Read on to see who Corrie picked in her own words!!

Writer Dan Klefstad Drops by for a Q & A @danklefstad

Today I am delighted to welcome American author of ‘Shepherd & the Professor’ , Dan Klefstad to Swirl and Thread.

Dan has agreed to let me have a little snoop inside his world where I have discovered many interesting facts about him.

Along the way, I also discovered that Dan will be making his first ever trip to Ireland later in the year and may even kiss The Blarney Stone!! Here’s hoping he will be awarded the ‘Gift of the Gab’ for that feat of dexterity!
